Chad Abernathy,

Attended Truman
High School in Independence where he was a Four-year varsity
starter, Four-time All-Conference and All-Area selection, Two-time
All-Kansas City Metro and All-State selection, USA Today All-USA in
2000, and the Examiner's Player of the Year in 2000 and 2001. He
still holds several school records including:

Career batting average, hits, RBI, and stolen
bases

Single season hits, RBI, and stolen bases
He has played at the division 1 level with the University of
Alabama, and Oklahoma State University. He was selected in 2004 to
join Team USA in the China Friendship Series in Beijing, China,
following an All-American season at MCC-Maple Woods.
After his collegiate career, he joined the UVV Red Lions of Utrecht,
Holland in the summer of 2008. He played seven different positions
and set the club record for Home Runs, while carrying a batting
average of .440 and stealing 14 bases.
He also made 5 starts on the mound, going 3-1 with a 2.80
ERA.
In addition to his playing career, he has spent two seasons as an
Assistant Coach/Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at MCC-Maple
Woods, working with OF and Hitters.
He has been an instructor at Albert Pujols’ and Mike
Sweeney’s Hitting Clinics.
In 2008, he served as a roaming instructor for the Royal
Dutch Baseball Federation (KNBSB), and the European Baseball School.
Chad is also a certified personal trainer, focusing on
sport-specific training
